Final Clip and Feedback

This is our final clip, that we produced as a group. I think that the things that worked well was that because we were all friends and we knew each other well we were able to produce something that was to the best of our ability. To improve we could have used a wider range of shots that would have shown more of the setting right at the start. For us to get feedback we each placed a link on our facebook pages and asked all our friends to watch it and tell us what they thought. We each had a wide range of responses from our audience, but i asked people that wasnt in our target audience so that what they said would be different and we could take into consideration what they said. We also showed our friends and family's and asked them for their honest opinion on what they thought.
Some examples of the feedback that we got from people in our target audience were:
  • ''The music was beautiful, yet haunting and it made me want to watch more''
  • ''Great use of portrayal of something that happens everyday but without giving too much away''
  • ''Loved the facial expressions on the female character, she showed a lot of emotion and gave the audience something to think about''
  • ''Loved how the story line involved even the audience and not just the characters and it didnt give to much away which made me want to watch more''
  • ''The soundtrack held a lot of emotion which really set the mood for the whole film''
  • ''It was easy for us as the audience to follow the storyline and the ending was really emotional, i didnt want it to end''
Some examples of the feedback that we got from people that wasnt in our target audience were:
  • ''even though it wasnt the sort of film that i would normally watch, i found the characters easy to follow on and understand''
  • ''even though it wasnt the sort of film that i would normally watch i liked the soundtrack, and i did find that the shots of the female on the hill was too much the same, i would of liked a wider range of shots but other than that it was great''
So overall we got a range of responses and we have each taken our responses into consideration, so when we next start planning for our next piece of work we will think of the responses and how we can change it.

Location stills

These are some more photos of where we shot clips for our film. We chose to film at a hill and lake as they were deserted places and this would be ideal as it would have more of a focus on our main character and not the background. Also in a romance genre one of the main locations they film is at a lake or field so it is also another reason we have chosen the places we have.

Feedback for our film opening

The good points:
People liked the fact that they felt the emotion that the film is trying to portray
The bad points:
Some found that the cuts for the photos was to quick
What you are going to do as a result of the feedback:
As a result we are going to change the time of the cuts, and also add more photos
What have you got left to do:
We are going to do some more filming so that we have some extra clips if we need to use them. And also we have got to add some more photos, and edit them altogether.

here are some photos of our media group watching each other's film opening of what we have done. We then got good and bad feedback and we have then improved our film as a result of the feedback

Recording our backing music

This is our group recording our backing music. We knew a good musician that could play the piano in our year and she said that she would play for us. We found some sheet music on the internet, which we downloaded and printed off.
